The Brief
Building on an established concept, the project focused on refining design details and delivering a flexible workspace
Inizio Engage relocated to a newly refurbished fourth-floor CAT A space in Plymouth, bringing with them an initial space plan and design vision. The objective was to refine and realise this concept, creating a functional and flexible workplace that supports collaboration, privacy, and day-to-day operations. Bespa worked closely with the design team to coordinate layouts with existing building services, ensuring the design translated seamlessly into the space. The brief called for a balance of open-plan working, adaptable meeting areas, and more informal settings, all delivered within a cohesive and considered aesthetic.

Space
The workspace is organised to maximise natural light and views across Plymouth, with open-plan desks forming the core of the layout. Meeting rooms with moveable walls provide flexibility for different group sizes, while phone booths and smaller meeting spaces are positioned around the perimeter for privacy. A dedicated snug area offers a more relaxed setting, enclosed by a full-height curtain to allow separation when needed. Bespoke joinery screens with integrated planting subtly divide the workspace and breakout areas, maintaining openness while creating defined zones that support a variety of working styles.
Design
A neutral palette underpins the design, creating a calm and cohesive environment that allows flexibility in use and longevity in style. Bespoke joinery elements introduce both functionality and visual interest, while integrated planting softens the space and enhances well-being. New task furniture supports comfort and performance, complemented by the reuse of existing loose furniture to promote sustainability. Careful coordination with existing services ensured a seamless integration of new elements, while every detail—from finishes to spatial flow—was considered to deliver a refined, adaptable workspace that supports both collaboration and focus.
